The Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi, Euroleague, and 'Arena Unites' have signed an agreement on cooperation, according to which Emirates will host the Euroleague Final for the first time in the region in May under the patronage of Turkish Airlines at 'Arena Unites' on Yas Island.
This agreement, reached in collaboration with strategic partner IMG, represents a significant expansion for the tournament into new international markets, leveraging its sports heritage, which spans over 25 years. The goal of organizing the final in Abu Dhabi is to attract attention to the 'passion of the fans' of the league, the motto of which is 'every match is important'.
The acting director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi, Saud al-Hosni, emphasized that Emirates has strengthened its position as a platform for sporting creativity and has become a hub for various sports, including basketball in the Middle East.
The head of the Euroleague Basketball, Dejan Bodiroga, pointed out that the opportunity to host the Euroleague Final in Abu Dhabi is an ambitious step, representing an opportunity for basketball fans at both regional and international levels to enjoy the atmosphere of this prestigious tournament. Collaboration opens up opportunities for fans to get acquainted with unique tourism directions, which the host city warmly welcomes.
The playoff matches of the four best European teams will be held on Friday, May 23, and the matches for the third place and final will take place on Sunday, May 25.
